Camrost Felcorp
A $15-million gift from Camrost Felcorp Inc. and David and Angela Feldman established a world-leading site of research and learning in the field of real estate and urban economics.
As part of this transformational gift, Camrost endowed two faculty positions – one being the Camrost Felcorp Chair in Real Estate, as well as a Chair in Urban Economics. These Chairs now provide sustained academic leadership, strengthen research capacity, and support data- driven policy development and industry engagement on the issues shaping housing and cities.
Camrost Felcorp is a diversified development company founded fifty years ago by businessman and philanthropist David Feldman. Camrost has grown into one of the most established Toronto real estate development platforms having built mixed-use development and office buildings. Over the years, Camrost has developed a core commitment to innovation and integrity and has a deep expertise both in ownership and rental housing models which positions the firm to respond to evolving housing and work environment needs and complexities of modern urban growth.
In 2024, this transformational $15 million gift from Camrost Felcorp and the Feldman family, enabled the creation of the David Feldman Centre for Real Estate and Urban Economics at the Rotman School of Management – one of the world’s leading research and learning establishments of its kind. The Feldman Centre equips generations of students with the skills and knowledge they need in the future to thrive as top-tier real estate professionals.
With a focus on preparing students to navigate and address pressing real estate challenges, sustainability in development and how to make our cities more resilient for everyone, the Centre is taking the University of Toronto’s expertise in real estate education to new heights of global excellence.
In addition to embedding real estate and urban economics learning and research into the Rotman School of Management curriculum, including through the MBA, PhD and Rotman Commerce programs, the Feldman Centre is also delivering executive training, workshops and public events that help students develop into well-rounded leaders.
The wide-reaching impact of Camrost’s extraordinary gift will be felt by generations of real estate professionals and the people they serve, across Canada and around the world.
